Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University is a state-approved university in Hyderabad, Telangana. It is a UGC-approved university which was established in 1985. It is rated as a 'B' grade autonomous institution by NAAC. It is the first university in Telangana to offer a CBCS programme. 

For undergraduate students, the university offers a BFA degree, nine diploma specializations, and eight certificate programs. The basic criterion for all of them is 10+2. Telugu University provides six specializations under MA, four specializations under MPA and degree-required MCJ courses. The university also offers postgraduate studies with 8 specializations within the PhD and 11 PG diploma programs.

All students at Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University undergo coaching for NET and other government competitive exams. It also provides English tuition for SC/ST students. Telugu Vaani, a bi-monthly magazine published by the university is also good.

The institution boasts excellent resources like Audio-Visual Studios, Auditorium, a Central Library and a Computer Lab. There are 16 departments offering bachelor's, master's, certification and doctoral programs.

The Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University Center for Distance Education offers a range of courses, including an interesting postgraduate course in Astrology. This course has gained popularity in India and abroad within a short period. The distance education centre provides courses in performing arts, language, literature, journalism and astrology at undergraduate, postgraduate, certificate and diploma levels. In addition, the Distance Education Council (DEC), a division of Indira Gandhi National Open University, approved the centre's courses in May 2010. The centre serves from the Hyderabad campus in addition to the main Hyderabad campus. Admissions to the university's distance learning program have started and the university has issued a statement.

Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University library facilities:

The Central Library is equipped with a rich collection consisting of about 1,00,000 books, of which 55,000 are in Telugu, 43,000 in English and 5,000 in other Indian languages. It subscribes to about 150 trade magazines in Telugu and English. The library also maintains about 10,000 back volumes of various journals. The library acquired a rare and unique collection of palm leaves, Mackenzie manuscripts, and letters of C.P. Brown. microfilms of the Telugu dailies Krishna Patrika for 40 years (1902–1942) and Andhra Patrika for 26 years (1914–1940).

Placement  

Most of the forced jobs on campus are in journalism and mass communication. The school management also assists with interviews and aptitude tests. The college placement cell informs  about the recruitment and eligibility criteria. Around 80 companies come for recruitment, some of which are Nestlé, Coca-Cola, Citibank, Accenture Management Consulting, Deutsche Bank and Standard Chartered Bank.
